About the OBS Forum

The OBS Forum is a virtual organization. Its goals are to enhance OBS research via discussion and collaboration, to broaden the awareness of OBS within the telecommunications and networking industry, to accelerate OBS’ adoption and deployment, and to discuss strategic topics and issues related to OBS interoperability and standards.

The OBS Forum's electronic forum consists of a website, listserv, mailing lists, archives, message boards, etc. The e-forum serves as a central exchange point for scientists, engineers and others interested in OBS technologies.

Who can join?

Any company, firm, educational institution, agency, or other organization with an interest in promoting OBS may join.

 

How does my organization join?

Send email to info@obsforum.com, or fill out the form in the “Contact Us” section. Please provide the name and URL of your organization, and a contact (name and email address).

 

Are there dues?

No. At present, there are no dues or other financial assessments for membership.

 

What is a Founding Member?

“Founding Membership” is a designation extended, upon request, to members joining the OBS Forum by June 30 2004 in recognition of their contributions and support during the OBS Forum’s formative period. Founding members will be designated as such on the OBS Forum’s electronic forum, upon request.

 

What is the Advisory Board?

The operational activities of the OBS Forum are directed by a Board of Advisors, which has representatives from academia, government, and industry. Advisors are representatives of member organizations.

 

Are there Bylaws or Guidelines?
